Sneaky friday dive with simon kay at blairgowrie pier. 1st attempt didnt go well with a neck seal failure , however 2nd was good. dive started on a flood tide.

vis was great and before the tide changed was the best i had seen it. even though the day was wet and windy but very flat within the marina.

Day of diving on the family holiday to Cairns.

Good day out , but the reef looked a bit worse for wear, most likely due to the number of boats at the dive location.  2 dives nice being warm for a dive in July!

Dive at Blairgowrie Pier after a break from diving, good to be back in the water although it was colder than last time.

Afternoon dive with Remie and Simon, sea life a bit down but most likely due to spider crabs being through in the last few weeks.

   The pier is full of life at the moment with good vis ;

Sea horses were back in numbers , with rays it made for a great dive

have a new light n motion 3800 video light which worked exceptionally well. will post video update once i finish downloading.

Nice dive today with Remi under the pier , used the sony action cam for all pictures and videos. The pier is full of life at this time of the year

The Zoo, in port phillip bay , a nice easy boat dive to test hand and ears out.

          Some of the best viz I've seen in the bay, with the rest of conditions just as nice.

           And a very nice play with seals and dolphins today, they are quick though

Very nice if busy dive today at rye pier. and very good to be back in the water after a break from diving!

 This time of the year the fish life is good under the pier , just need to be mindful of staying under the pier with the number of jet ski's around.

Last minute dive at Blairgowrie, next few days dont look like divable conditions so it was today or never.

 And a very good dive it was with very calm conditions and a reasonable amount of sea life out and about.

A very good dive today with Simon and Lynne at one of the best piers in Victoria.

 The new weed mats have created some great hiding spaces along the leading edges.
and definitely nudi heaven today!

Nice dive with Remi today at Blairgowrie,

Been awhile since we have done here, and the life is slowly coming back after the construction works, although sea life is still somewhat limited. Dive was about 3 hours before high tide, with current only becoming noticeable toward end of dive.

A nice dive  on the wall, tried out using the camera without strobes , with some higher iso and manual settings. ok but strobes are better. still nice to dive.

(first time in over 150 dives without a camera)

and yes we did see seals, smooth rays, and all sorts of great creatures to photograph.

J4 and The Zoo

J4 & the Zoo

Great day of diving with Remi and Friends, with Dive Vic, frist dive was the J4 Sub which located outside the heads was a bit rougher than expected with low vis on the Sub. But still not a bad dive. 

The 2nd dive for the day was the Zoo, just down from boar fish reef to keep a bit more away from the heads , this was a very relaxing dive of around 18-20 meters  with a wide variety of fish life, including smooth rays, blue devil fish etc.

Boar Fish Reef

A day dive with red boats and Lynne to Boar Fish Reef.  although rough at portsea , calm conditions at the dive site due to winds being from the west.

A nice dive of 50 minutes & 22 Meters. wit some of my favorite Blue Devil fish's hiding under the ledges.  A nice place if you are looking for a shallower boat dive inside the heads.
