North Wall

North Wall

A day of diving with a new boat company - Red Boats, 2 dives the first at dragons lair, which one year i will actually remember that this is outside of the heads and not to ever do unless it is very very flat. - So first dive has no photos , but we did see the sea dragons , a port Jackson shark and a number of other things, but surge here kept visibility very low.  The 2nd dive was great wall diving in Melbourne, great conditions , very good boat to operate from and good buddies.

linley point mornington

linley point Mornington

Nice Dive At Linley point with Reemie,
Reasonable amount to see, calm day made it a very relaxing dive. Reef has lots to fossick around in ,

Depth 6.2 meters out the back.

Couple of notes:
Watch for boats suggest surface swim until on the other side of boat ramp.
Head toward the green marker bouy as trying to shortcut is too shallow for fun diving.

A new dive at the renovated pier, entry and exits are now easy with low landings and new scuba friendly ladders.  Sealife is starting to come back but will take a while , but still a nice dive, with lots of different areas from the cave like conditions at the start of the pier to the nice section under the pier , the front section with the rock wall offers lots of nooks to explore.

Blairgowrie Pier.

Blairgowrie Pier

A dive at Blairgowrie, but changes with the pier extensions have seen sand dredged being built up under the outer wall, to almost level with the bottom of the sea wall.
But still an enjoyable dive and a spotted stingray for something different.

Dive buddy: Simon Kay
time 1.20

Sand now under the seawall, so now a shallow dive.

Cottage by the sea

Cottage by the sea

Another dive at the cottage by the sea, a good dive with lots of interesting sea life.
some camera issues meant a lack of photos today, But reminds  you the importance of fitting the wide angle in cleaner water ie not on the bottom whee the silt is worst!

Hawaii Manta Diving

Hawaii Manta Diving

Two Dives in Kona Hawaii, at the famous Manta feeding spot, originally found due to a resorts flood lights attracting the Mantray's in to feed.

First dive was a basic orientation dive and in day light, really not that much of interest in this area, I suspect from being over dived with the Manta ray viewing.

The night time dive was a great sight with 8 Manta ray's in feeding and so close they literally bumped the strobes off the camera.
For a lot of the passes they were so big and close the fisheye lens would fit them in. some very close up shots of gills and underbellies though!

(will update with the video once back to real internet connections)

Diamond Bay Dive

Diamond Bay Dive

First time diving this back beach location.
Great dive but only do on a very calm day (northerly winds for a few days).
Stairs look steep but take it easy and no issues.
Enter from sandy part of Beach, follow either side out and in.

Lots to see on this dive, including 10 Port Jackson sharks (totally harmless)

10 Port Jacksons!

Mornington and Flinders Piers.

Morning ton and Flinders Pier

A classic day of pier hopping , lunch and celebratory drink at the pub afterward.. What I love about Diving!  thanks JJ, Ad, Brit for a great day!

Mornington Pier, Construction works are still impacting this site, but on a stormy day it was generally calm, and following the pier to the end, where you have depth you can safely go around the seaward side and explore the rocks, for rays, cuttlefish and sea horses.  pity my camera work wasn't better a lot of blurred photos.
